When Life Gets Heavy: Finding Grace In The Trials

Hey sweet friends,
I know it’s been a little while since I’ve shared here, and I wanted to start by saying I’m sorry for being MIA these past couple months. Life has had me in the thick of it, and to be honest—it’s been a season that has stretched me in every direction.
Between a hospital stay with my little one, facing my own surgery and recovery, packing up our home, getting setttled in our temporary home, and now preparing for another move in the near future, life has been full. Full of worry, exhaustion, and more “unknowns” than I’d like to admit. Some days it has felt like my world is so heavy, and I can barely take the next step.
But here’s what I’m learning: even when life feels like it’s falling apart, there are small anchors that hold us steady. A whispered prayer in the middle of the night. A deep breath before the tears come. The smile of a baby who reminds you why you keep going. The helping hand of a friend or the comforting words of scripture.

These moments don’t erase the trials—but they give us enough strength to keep moving forward, one step at a time. And sometimes, that’s all we can do when life gets heavy. If you’re walking through a heavy season too, please know you’re not alone. It’s okay if your faith feels weary or if you’re just trying to keep your head above water. God doesn’t ask us to carry it all perfectly—He just asks us to lean on him.
In this season, I’m learning that being rooted doesn’t always look like having it all together—it’s often quiet, unseen, and tender. It’s choosing to trust that God is still at work in the soil of our lives, even when everything feels unsettled. Sometimes, roots grow deepest in the dark—when we can’t see what’s ahead but decide to stay grounded in his promises anyway. My prayer is that as we walk through the unknowns together, we remember that even in the stretching, the uprooting, and the waiting, He’s growing something beautiful beneath the surface.
I’ll be sharing more in the coming weeks as we settle into this next chapter, but I wanted to pause and say thank you for being here with me, for your patience, and for your prayers. Life may be messy, but it’s in these moments that we learn what it means to be rooted, even when the storm rages on.
With Love,
Destiny
